Student Code of Conduct
The Safe and Healthy Students Program (SHS) (formerly Alternative Education Program) is a centralized academic and behavioral treatment services program for students in grades 7 through 12. It is specifically designed for high-risk students who are severely behaviorally challenged. These students have been admitted to the SHS due to severe and/or frequent level 3 and/or 4 infractions of the Virgin Islands Board of Education Student Discipline Policy, are facing expulsion, or have been adjudicated by the courts
Behavioral intervention is provided through a multi-tiered system of support to include ABC Data Collection, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Practices, Restorative Strategies, and Wrap Around Services for students and families.
The Student Code of Conduct is in compliance with the Virgin Islands Board of Education Student Discipline Policy
- NO PHYSICAL OR VERBAL PROVOCATION AND/OR AGGRESSION TOWARDS STAFF OR PEERS
- NO DRUGS, WEAPONS AND ALCOHOL ARE ALLOWED ON SCHOOL PREMISES
- COMPLIANCE WITH STAFF DIRECTIVES AT ALL TIMES WITH AT MOST TWO RE-DIRECTED PROMPT PER MISBEHAVIOR
- RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY IS TO BE DEMONSTRATED AT ALL TIMES

STUDENT IS EXPECTED TO BE PUNCTUAL TO CLASS AT ALL TIMES AND SHOULD NOT LEAVE CLASS OR SCHOOL WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION
- NO STEALING, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, OR GAMBLING
- STUDENT IS EXPECTED TO HAVE MINIMAL ABSENCES AND MUST ATTEND CLASS 90% OF THE DAY A CLASS IF OFFERED
